I only type using my two fingers, how can I learn to use everything?

Is it not to late to learn how to type using my 10 fingers? I am already 42 years old.

Hi,

There are a number of things that you can do to help you learn to type properly and efficiently, including using all of your fingers to operate your keyboard.

First, you may want to find a reliable typing software or website to help guide you along learning the new typing technique. Once you’ve found such a program, like Typesy, you can begin to unlearn some of your bad habits.

This is by far the hardest part of learning to touch type from using the hunt-and-peck method, as you have to teach yourself to stop looking at the keyboard and instead, rely on proper finger placement and muscle memory. Your eyes should not be looking at your keyboard while you type at all, not even for a peek - that will negate your attempts. Using this information, a typing program, and the raised bumps on the J and F keys to indicate where your fingers should be, you’ll be typing properly in no time.
