I can type faster using 2-3 fingers compared to those who uses everything, should I still learn it?

I am afraid learning how to touch using all my fingers might be difficult.

Hi Irving,

The main reason to learn touch-typing is so you won’t have to look at the keyboard as you’re typing. If you are using a"proper" computer (that is, a desktop or laptop) then this can be very useful as it allows you to check what you’re typing on the screen, copy text prom notes or look at another person (e.g. during a meeting). If you don’t care about any of this, keep going as you are!

Hi Irving,

Using two or three fingers to hunt and peck takes much longer and allows for the development of bad habits. It is much better to keep your hands still and allow for efficient use of all fingers. Touch typing involves the specific placements of all eight fingers and both thumbs; once muscle memory is strong enough, this style allows for the typist to focus on the screen rather than the keyboard. Don’t worry, Typesy offers over 500 lesson, games and practice sessions. Just give it some time and you will learn the correct movements!
