We got about five inches of rain from Saturday night to Sunday night. It rained like crazy! And it was extremely windy. The pine tree in our front yard fell. We knew it would happen soon so Dad and I moved his truck out from under the pine on Saturday and Sunday the pine tree fell. There was a big tree down on the road between us and church. Our yard looks terrible with branches all over. But I’m so glad we got so much rain! No fire danger now!
that is so good does it snow where you live cause it does not snow where i live
Where do you live? I live in SC it is November and guess what!
It is still so green! I was about to think that we’d never get the beautiful fall colors!
i live in mississipi
and yes it is very greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
Challenge for you all. Does anyone know how to solve this problem: 5x - 20 + 3x + 16 = 22 + 6
This is algebra and I love working these problems out.
No not at all. I haven’t learned algebra yet. Sorry.
Does no one know how to solve this problem?! Seriously!? It is so simple. @AGM and @GMDressen please give it a try.
Okay. Here’s a much simpler problem. Try this:
2n + 4n + 3n = 27
Use this jingle to help you:
Please (parentheses)
Excuse ( exponent)
My (multiplication)
Dear (division)
Aunt (addition)
Sally ( subtraction)
So I guess I’ll have to show you all how it’s done
First problem: 5x - 20 + 3x + 16 = 22 + 6
5x - 20 + 3x + 16 = 28
8x - 20 + 16 = 28
8x - 20 + 16 - 16 = 28 - 16
8x - 20 = 12
8x - 20 + 20 = 12 + 20
8x = 32
8x ÷ 8x = 32 ÷ 8
x = 4
Next one:
2n + 4n + 3n = 27
6n + 3n = 27
9n = 27
9n ÷ 9 = 27 ÷ 9
n = 3
Questions anyone?
Yes. What is algebra? And why does it look so complicated?
Those problems are algebra and it’s not complicated once you learn how to do it.
For example, in those problems, and in all algebra problems for that matter, you have to do the same thing to each side; that’s why I subtracted on each side, divided on each side, etc. And you can only do one operation per line. For example, if the equation contained multiplication and subtraction I would have to do them on separate lines. You’ll learn.
In all reality, 1 + 1 is algebra, you just don’t think of it that way. Algebra is good for your brain. It teaches you to think in the abstract, and teaches you to think from a different aspect.
How is that algebra? And by the way I read your posts but I just really didn’t understand them. I’m sorry, but I am just learning Division at the moment. I could not understand what you meant. Sorry.
I’ll be offline today. When I get back, around 3 to 4 this afternoon, I try to explain it better.
@coinballon78 I can give you a dare here.
@coinballon78 you ready?
sure go head and ask me
for a second i thought @alicebelle was here
What’s the best thing that ever happened to you?
