Is it okay to type fast even though not done properly?

If you only use 2-4 fingers in typing but with great speed, will you be considered a good typist?

Hi,

On one hand, the fact that you are making few or no errors is great and impressive. On the other hand, however, you should know how to type properly. Proper posture, positioning, and muscle memory are all just as important as your typing accuracy, speed, and lack of errors. This is not only coming from a functionality standpoint, but also from a health standpoint - hunt-and-peck typing increases your likelihood of developing back and neck problems as well as joint stiffness.

Even barring that, there’s a limit to how quickly you can actually type with the hunt-and-peck method. Using the proper typing technique, such as the touch type method, will not only improve your posture and overall comfort while working, but will increase your speed over time and will, therefore, improve your productivity. So, in my professional opinion, no it is not okay to type incorrectly, regardless of speed or accuracy.
