Is it necessary take a typing class to learn touch typing?

I never had a typing class before, should I take a course to learn it? Are there any other ways?

Hi,

It is not necessary to take a typing class in order to learn how to touch type, but it may be advisable if you need help figuring out how to sit properly and position your hands correctly for an optimal typing experience.

If you would like to take a typing class, many high schools, libraries, colleges, vocational schools, and work centers usually offer typing classes that you can enroll in or sign up for. If you do not want to enroll in a class at any of these local establishments, there are many online typing tutors.

These include an array of websites and downloadable software that you can use to improve your typing skills, accuracy, and speed effortlessly from home, or wherever else you might have access to a compatible computer or laptop. These programs and websites include those such as Typesy, Rapid Typing, Ratatype, and Typing Cat, among others.
