How should I take down notes efficiently, through typing or writing?

Which is more efficient in taking down notes?

Hi,

Studies and research have been done on this very subject, and while the findings are compelling, this will really boil down to your own personal preferences in the moment. But, you should know that the ability to remember and recall information, under pressure or not, is much more improved when you take notes by hand writing them rather than by typing them up on a computer, laptop, tablet, or cell phone.

Typing can be neater and easier to read than handwriting, but your brain recognizes information more clearly when it’s reinforced by writing notes out by hand with a pen or pencil on paper. But, if a speaker you’re trying to take notes from talks particularly fast and you’re faster with typing, you may want to record the lecture on a computer or laptop by typing and then transfer the key takeaways later onto paper with your own handwriting to help you retain the information better.
