Eye strain caused by typing practice

Hi, I often suffer from eye strain when I get to focused in practicing my typing. Do you have any tips on how to treat this and avoid hindering my practice?

Hi Nathan,

Here are some tips that might help you:

Get a Pair of Blue Light Blockers.
Take Breaks.
Blink.
Switch It Up. If you wear contact lenses, take a break from them for a bit and wear your glasses instead vice versa
Optimize Your Lighting.
Keep Things Humid.
Get a Matte Screen Filter.

Hello, @nathanmeyer!

Please be careful and kind to your body! As with any physical movement, too much can cause strain. While you shouldn’t be typing long enough to cause issues, there are a few simple tricks you could try to ease the strain. If you’re a glasses-wearer, switch up between glasses and contacts and look into blue light filtering lenses. You can also find special brightness settings on many devices - look to lower the brightness, switch to “night” or “dark” mode, and use a blue light filter when possible.

If all else fails, take more breaks! Step away from the screen as soon as you feel discomfort.

Stay safe!
