Which method is better?

Is touch typing really faster than hunt and peck?

Some people are comfortable with hunt-and-peck and are contented with the method. But if I were to decide, I would prefer learning touch typing. You’ll never know, your typing speed will increase more, but of course, you need to invest time and effort first.

We think so! Using two or three fingers to hunt and peck takes much longer and allows for the development of bad habits. It is much better to keep your hands still and allow for efficient use of all fingers. Touch typing involves the specific placements of all eight fingers and both thumbs; once muscle memory is strong enough, this style allows for the typist to focus on the screen rather than the keyboard. No matter what method you use, just be sure to be mindful of your body posture and wrist positions to avoid long term damage.
