I think it just protects you. And makes you go a little faster. Maybe click on it. I am still on the road to becoming master. And @RedEagle404, it is a game on Typsey to help improve your accuracy and speed. It is the one with the submarine. You go around large rocks and collect coins. Then with the coins you earn can buy different upgrades.
