What are the recommended hand exercises?

Performing finger and hand exercises such as wiggling and stretching fingers, circling thumbs, pressing palms together and push, pressing fingertips of each hand together and straighten fingers while pushing, pretending to play a piano on a desk or table top, and crumpling a piece of scrap paper into a ball and squeeze it in the palm for 10 seconds each hand.

As you develop the muscle memory needed for touch typing, exercise your typing muscles! Tasks like using a table top to pretend to type along as someone speaks are great ways to keep your muscles warm, even when a keyboard may not be available.

As with any physical activity, stop and rest if any discomfort arises.
