Tell us about your Microsoft Office frustrations!

I am a young student and new in using PowerPoint. I hope I can find a good material to learn.

With the great improvement in designing, Microsoft should step up with their graphics like SmartArt.

I have some frustrations in Microsoft Word when I am making a report. When I am doing formatting after writing the report I have to go through entire report several times. As when I change something in the report everything moves eg. Some times images move to the next page and leave the previous page half empty, the text moves so the chapter heading comes in middle of the page instead of the top.

I would like to learn all the MS office packages including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. to its advance level.

I would also like to learn about using the Macros in excel and how to edit them in the Visual Basic codes.

Thank you very much for providing an opportunity to contribute to the course.

Regards,
Dipesh

My biggest frustration with using O365 online is performance. I have taught Office for the last 25 years but find that I spend most of my time in GSuite these days - simply because documents are so easy to share with others.
I started life in the DTP world and find styles much easier to use than individual paragraph formatting. MS could make selecting styles more obvious than selecting typeface and font size. Any Word course should start with how to use styles - before anything else.

My greatest frustration occurs when using Word 2016 to edit newsletters with photos in a mixed 1 and 2 column layout to limit space to one duplex letter size page. As I add more photos and text to a column with the text wrap square, the photos randomly move and sometimes disappear completely, even when the photo is set to “lock anchor” on the “layout/position tab.”

The only other comment I would offer concerns Excel. When I’ve had occasion to explore more advanced integrated formula features, there have been times when I’ve found the help within Excel lacking the necessary clarity to produce a formula with a working syntax. However, unless you’re an accountant most people don’t need to know such minutia.

I try to use it with my son for school work and it just isn’t elementary school friendly. It is very crowded.

I train and consult on Microsoft 365 (Office 365). The complexity of “which tool to use when” is a tricky one.

I have most of the basic knowledge of Microsoft but I am still not skillful in techniques and would like to increase in advance skills and knowledge.

The amount of fonts on word is actually quite limited.

I have to agree on that one

Hi Arianna,

A while back (I still have the email correspondence) you promised me I would get the new Typesy offering.

I have to say, I feel a little ‘cheated’.

Why haven’t you kept your word?..
