Somethings wrong with Typesy

I have over 500,000 Typesey points, with 300wpm.
So why do I only have a typing mastery of 6.2?

Hello, @RedEagle404!

Are you by chance a self-taught typist? As in, were you already pretty proficient at typing before you started with Typesy?

I ask because that mastery number is based on the Typesy Mastery Metric, a way to measure and quantify your progress as you improve in your typing skills. On top of speed and accuracy, Typesy’s metric adds a third area of content knowledge which measures the ability to touch type specifically, that the finger positioning aligns with the touch typing method. So if you’re a crazy fast and accurate typist (as it seems you are!), but you’re not using exact, “proper” touch typing, that would explain the 6.2.

Could this perhaps be the case?

Are you talking about my keyboard knowledge? :keyboard:
I don’t know what you mean when you say by “proper” touch typing.
Could you expound?

@RedEagle404, yes! When I say “proper” technique, I mean following the finger positioning used in touch typing, the method taught through the Typesy program.
