Incorporating Fun in Classroom Keyboarding Session

I like my class to enjoy their keyboard lessons.

Hi!

Upload and integrate curricular materials and classroom assignments for typing exercises. Have students type age-appropriate fiction stories from language arts, and nonfiction content from science or social studies. Or include materials connected to seasons, holidays, sports events, and school activities. Or ask elementary students to type a letter to Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, or their favorite character in a book or movie. Ask older students to type a letter to their favorite musician or movie star. That way, students are typing more relevant content that engages them and reinforces their learning in other areas

We want your students to enjoy typing lessons, too!

Consider adding a competitive edge every once in a while to boost excitement and engagement. You could host competitions for highest WPM or accuracy, allow your most advanced students to tutor less experienced classmates, or challenge your adept typists by blindfolding them or covering the letters on their keyboard. You can also have students set personal goals - they will then effectively be competing against themselves to beat past scores! Keep moving your goal posts little by little to keep your kids enjoying their work.
