From 40-50 WPM?

My typing speed has increased from 40 to 50 WPM. Is this ideal?

Hi there,

Yes, your typing speed is excellent.

Most people have an average typing speed of 40 WPM so beyond that is actually better. Most transcription job also require a speed of 65 WPM and up which makes you qualify for this skill.

Hi there,

Wow! That was awesome.

You’re doing an excellent job for increasing your typing skills from 40-50 WPM.

Most people has an average of 40 WPM and if you keep on practicing you will definitely increase it on a timely manner and be like Barbara Blackburn who has a typing speed of 216 using an IBM electric typewriter in 1946. And who reached a peak typing speed of 212 wpm during a test in 2005, using a Dvorak simplified keyboard.

And this will give you a better opportunity to lend a lot of typing job in the future if would like to, like:

  • Secretary and Receptionist. If you re interested in being a secretary or receptionist, you ll probably find that you need a typing speed between 55 and 80 words per minute (wpm). …
  • Legal and Administrative Assistant. …
  • Medical Transcriptionists. …
  • Data Entry. …
  • Court Reporter. …
  • Non-Typing Professions.

Keep it up.
