Please advice how can I motivate my students to be focused.

Motivate by explaining why. Just as students may ask why they have to learn math instead of just using a calculator, students may wonder why they need to learn keyboarding instead of swiping, using thumbs and random fingers, or dictating into an app.

Focus problems could also be a sign that a student is not engaged or challenged enough by the task at hand! Consider assigning weekly challenges, holding speed and accuracy tournaments, or having students track their progress daily. Adding a touch of competition may be what some students need to focus in on practice. Setting personal goals can be a highly motivating factor, too. Find ways for your students to hold themselves accountable for their progress and success. While the act of practicing touch typing is consistent and repetitive, there are no rules for shaking up your classroom management when needed!
