Do the fingers supposed to float or touc the home row when typing?

It depends whether your hands need to take some rest. You don’t have to be so strict with it. Just follow where you are comfortable.

You may want to touch if you still need the F and J key indentations for guidance. If not, I would just caution you to position your wrists correctly and you’ll be fine either way. For proper hand placement, the wrists should remain neutral, bent slightly upwards. Be careful not to angle your wrists too harshly. Repeated misuse of the keyboard may lead to discomfort and should be avoided.
