Tip for increasing typing speed

What do you recommend to increase typing speed?

Hi!

Many people think that speed is more important than technique, but technique is 80% of the process, and focusing on speed is just 20%.

Any good typing course will first focus on improving your touch typing technique and accuracy, and only then move on to helping you improve your speed. Spend a few days learning the basic touch typing techniques before you start worrying about speed. Include ergonomics as well as hand and finger placement.

Hello, @larrywilks!

All typing programs are likely to focus on the key element of learning: practice, practice, practice!
Luckily, with programs like Typesy, this process doesn’t have to be boring.

It is important to note that a high WPM with low accuracy is not a desirable goal; the amount of time needed to correct typing errors should be taken into account when testing a true WPM. So while you work to increase your speed, make sure not to sacrifice accuracy.

Everyone learns differently, and with the amount of options available for typing programs, everyone should be able to find something that works for them. Since it has been a while since you posted, perhaps you’ve tried a few different options. Any feedback for success?!
