Making typing practice more fun

How can I make the typing practice more fun so that the children will not get bored?

Hi Kirstie,

A fun way to improve your typing speed is to practice with text that is familiar and/or interesting to you. For instance, touch type your favorite poem, or excerpts from your favorite book.

By practicing your touch typing while engaging with an activity or subject matter you find enjoyable, it makes the process much more pleasant. You will improve your typing speed without even realizing the effort you’re putting into it!

Hi Kristie,

Typing practice does not need to be a mundane task. Utilize typing games to keep students engaged, and before you know it, your kids will be begging to practice their keyboarding skills. Aside from keeping lessons fun, typing games allow kids to track their progress, happily focus on areas of weakness, and practice their hand-eye coordination, a skill much needed in touch typing. You could also set up challenges at home and reward them with a little something!
