# How to pause Typesy courses?

Hello, how can I pause time when I have to attend on something?

HI Caelan,

Typesy exercises are 3-5 minutes long, designed and more beneficial if completed without interruption.

But if for any reason you have to interrupt an exercise here are the possible options:

1. Go idle - The app detects if you are idle and automatically pauses an exercise, please see attached screenshot.
2. Using the back button - You can use the back button and when you are ready to start, it will resume to where you previously stopped. You can also redo the current exercise for better result.
