Since there is a relation between muscle memory and touch typing, how can we improve muscle memory alone?

Hi there,

Not all of your typing instructions have to be about typing. Half the battle is muscle memory and remembering where your fingers should move as they are moving. When your students get bored with typing, find ways to work on their memory. Play some games that work on memory. Depending on the age level you are working with, this can be as simple as an old-fashioned game of Simon Says!

Hi Phoebe,

I hope I am understanding your question question correctly. If you would like to practice typing away from a computer, you could print a paper version or unplug a keyboard just for practice. Muscle memory involves the exact motions of what you are trying to learn. This may be a good way to practice on the go, or without needing to sit in front of a screen.
