Hi,

For content guidance, you may check Common Core Standard for each grade level here:

Hello, @adnanbruce!

As you’ll see, the CC standard does not specify _how_ to teach keyboarding or which skills should be earned by which grade. The standards are meant to be open guidelines rather than prescriptions.

What the standards _do_ dictate is that keyboarding is deemed an essential skill. For in school purposes, many states have now converted from paper- to computer-based tests, meaning students must have a solid foundation of keyboard learning in order for test scores not to skew. For a larger application, consider how the world continues to rely more heavily on technology, and that the ability to type has now become a necessary skill for any and all entering the 21st-century workforce.

The common core standards may not give you a roadmap to teaching typing, but luckily there are programs like Typesy, designed to ensure your learners meet and exceed the standards set for them.
